Dr. Jordan and Dr. Pham's Wedding News

Dr. Jordan and Dr. Pham's Wedding News
It was impossible to miss their radiant smiles as Dr. Christopher Jordan married his Dr. Jordan and Dr. Pham's Wedding Newsfellow dentist and partner, Dr. CamTu Pham on September 17 in Newport Beach. "My mom actually told me that I was smiling too much for the pictures," said Dr. Pham, "but I just couldn't help it!"

The Rancho Santa Margarita dentists met prior to dental school while both were studying Biology at the University of California, Riverside. "We met while dissecting frogs in college," joked Dr. Jordan regarding the history of their relationship. "I remember looking up and seeing Cam at the other end of the lab bench- she was much cuter than the frog in front of me!" They dated throughout their undergraduate studies and maintained their relationship long-distance while they attended different dental schools for their doctorate studies.

"After practicing separately for awhile, as we planned for our wedding we began to think seriously about practicing together," explained Dr. Jordan. The dentists wanted to find a place where they could raise children and become a part of the community; they found that location in Rancho Santa Margarita. "It's a great place for families and kids. The schools are good, the people are friendly, and it still maintains a kind of small-town feeling, which is just what we were looking for. It just seemed to come together for us."

Their two lives began worlds apart. Dr. Jordan is a fourth generation Californian who can trace his American genealogy back to the Mayflower, while Dr. Pham and her family escaped the perils of communist Vietnam by boat when she was a toddler. "We tried to represent both cultures by blending the traditional American-style wedding with certain Vietnamese customs," stated Dr. Pham. The bride wore a white wedding gown during the church ceremony, and then changed into a traditional Vietnamese dress during the reception. "It was important for my parents to see me in the traditional style dress because it's the way they'd always pictured me looking on my wedding day."

The couple was married by the Rev. Reynold Furrell of Holy Trinity Parish in Ladera Ranch, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Newport Beach. The reception was held at the Hotel Laguna, in Laguna Beach. "The weather really cooperated with us," commented Dr. Jordan, "it was a great day at the beach-we had an amazing sunset and it was wonderful to be surrounded by family and friends, next to the most beautiful dentist I know!"
